About Weird RequestsA field guide for an unhinged little corner of the internet

What this is.

A marketplace for the asks that have nowhere else to live.

The reason this exists

The shape of the thing, spelled out plainly.

You’ve thought about hiring a stranger.

Not literally. You'd never put it that way. But there's a favor you've turned over in your head that no friend can do, no freelancing site has a category for, and nobody in your family can ever know about. We built this for that favor.

The idea came from watching the same conversation happen at three different dinner parties. Someone describes a request so unhinged it stops the room. Then says, half-laughing, "I'd pay actual money to make that happen." Everyone laughs. The next morning, the idea is gone. We thought: it shouldn't be gone. It should have somewhere to land.

So we built somewhere. You post the request, set the price, and a stranger you'll never meet picks it up. No friends are recruited. No tabs are open to your inbox. Money is held until you accept what you got. Your real name never appears on this site. The whole point is that the people in your life don't have to know.

What keeps it honest

The infrastructure under the playful surface.

01

Money locks the second you commit

Every job sits in escrow. Nothing reaches the stranger until you accept the delivery. One revision window. Disputes go to an actual person on our team.

02

Every post read by a human

Before it goes live and before you ever see a delivery, a real moderator reads it. We don't ship requests that hurt people. We don't ship requests that break the law. Everything else is on the table.

Now you know

Go write the one you've been holding.
