# Getting started

Weird Requests is a marketplace for the absurd, the specific, and the creative — the kind of request no normal gig site has a category for. Someone posts it, someone weird delivers it, and the money sits safely in escrow until it's done.

## The two roles

Everyone can do both, on any request:

- **Posters** describe what they want, set a price, and pay into escrow when they pick someone.
- **Fulfillers** apply to requests, get picked, deliver the goods, and get paid.

There's no separate "seller account." You post when you want something weird done, and you fulfill when you spot a request you can nail.

## How a request flows

1. **Post.** You write the request, set a price and a deadline, and it goes through a quick human moderation pass.
2. **Applications.** Fulfillers pitch themselves and (optionally) propose a different price.
3. **Pick.** You choose someone. That's when your card is charged and the money enters escrow — held, not paid.
4. **Deliver.** The fulfiller submits their work. You get one revision window if it's not quite right.
5. **Accept.** You accept the delivery and escrow releases to the fulfiller. Done.

If something goes wrong, a real person handles the dispute — escrow never auto-pays a job you haven't accepted.

## Money, briefly

- You're charged the request price **plus a small poster fee** when you pick someone.
- The fulfiller receives the price **minus a fulfiller fee**.
- Funds are held in escrow until you accept the delivery.
